There is a proposal to amend our declaration/bylaws to limit renters. At the June meeting, homeowners considered the following ideas.  Please post your thoughts on this proposal

1.  Limit ownership of units within Lakebridge #4 to one (1) per person

2. If a homeowner decides to rent out their unit ;

      A. Allow relatives, domestic partners to  use the unit when the owner is not there

      B.  Require owner to provide the board with a copy of the lease which requires renters to obey the rules of the association or face eviction.  All adults living in the unit must be on the lease.

      C Require background checks of all adults renting.

3. Limit the number of units that may be rented at any given time

4.  Grandfather in existing units which are rented now, with a reasonable time to require whatever requirements regarding leases, etc become part of the amendment.

5.  Other thoughts

The draft presented at the June meeting will be re-worked and presented for discussion at a future meeting.  Notification of the meeting will be by newletter, email, and/or US mail.

When there is a proposal that has support of the majority at the meeting, it will be sent to our attorney for final editting. Homeowners will be presented with the final version and have an opportunity to decide if they want to support the amendment or not. 75% of the homeowners will need to sign before the amendment becomes part of our Declaration.

Any comments on this proposal are appreciated, especially if you are unable to attend the meetings. This is an opportunity to have your voice heard.
